FAQ
Are my files uploaded?
No. Filename previews and renamed downloads are created locally in your browser. DevKitYard does not upload the selected files.
Does the tool rename files automatically?
It previews every new filename, then downloads renamed copies of real selected files. Browsers cannot rename the originals in place.
Can I replace text in filenames?
Yes. Find and replace changes the base filename only, so a matching file extension is not changed accidentally.
Can I add prefixes or suffixes?
Yes. You can add editable prefix and suffix text, and optionally place a padded sequence between the filename and suffix.
Can I rename website images for SEO?
Use the SEO image filenames recipe, replace its descriptive base name with your own, then review the lowercase numbered output before downloading.
Which filenames are blocked?
The tool blocks empty output, common Windows-reserved names, overly long names and case-insensitive collisions. Operating-system rules still vary, so it does not claim universal compatibility.
